Lieutenant Governor Tregenza A. Roach leaves the Territory today to attend the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLG) Annual meeting in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. In addition to collaborating with his colleagues on various policy matters, Lieutenant Governor Roach will be finalizing plans to host the NLGA for its winter meeting, December 2025, in the Virgin Islands.
As part of its mission, NLGA fosters interstate cooperation and provides a medium for the exchange of views to improve the efficiency of state and territorial administration through education on current issues and leadership training.
Plenary sessions, keynote presentations, and panel discussions from lieutenant governors and NLGA partners will include topics surrounding the National Drug Control Policy, homelessness and housing strategies, infrastructure and intergovernmental priorities, workforce innovations, violence and human trafficking, and energy and environmental stewardship. The body will also consider adopting several policy resolutions.
Lieutenant Governor Roach will return to the Territory on Sunday, July 20. During his absence, Senate President Milton E. Potter will assume the duties of the lieutenant governor, as per the Revised Organic Act of the Virgin Islands.
