USVI Soccer Federation Activates Men’s National Team for Historic Outrigger Cup in Arkansas

Virgin Islands News

The US Virgin Islands Soccer Federation is pleased to announce the activation of its Men’s National Team, the Dashing Eagles, for participation in the inaugural Outrigger Cup, to be hosted in Springdale, Arkansas, from August 10–17.

This landmark tournament, organized by the Marshall Islands Football Association, marks the first time the Marshall Islands have hosted an international competition of this nature. It will feature three national teams: the Marshall Islands, the Turks and Caicos Islands, and the US Virgin Islands.

The tournament will see the Dashing Eagles face the Marshall Islands team for the very first time—a significant milestone in fostering new sporting relationships. They will also renew their competitive rivalry with the Turks and Caicos Islands National Team, with whom they hold a balanced head-to-head record of 1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss.

To guide the team through this competition cycle, the USVISF is proud to welcome Head Coach Terrance “Terry” Jones Sr. Preparation for the Outrigger Cup will include a dedicated training camp at the USVISF Technical Center in St. Croix from July 16–21, 2025. This will be followed by a final pre-tournament camp in Miami from August 5–9, after which the team will travel directly to Arkansas for the competition.

The USVI Soccer Federation thanks its stakeholders, partners, and the entire Virgin Islands community for their continued support of our national teams as we work to develop football across the territory.
