In a landmark moment for football in the region, the U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation (USVISF) and the British Virgin Islands Football Association (BVIFA) have signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing collaboration, increasing competition, and promoting participation across both territories.
The signing, witnessed by senior delegates from FIFA and CONCACAF, took place in a spirit of unity and shared purpose. The agreement outlines joint initiatives between the two Member Associations, including the organization of shared competitions, coordinated development strategies, and collaborative capacity-building workshops—such as the recently held CONCACAF Marketing and Commercialization Workshop, which was hosted jointly by both federations.
President of the BVIFA, Avanell “Clarkie” Morton, reflected on the momentous occasion, stating, “I am very proud of this historic partnership. This is the first MoU the BVIFA has signed, and I am very happy and proud it is with our neighbors in the USVI.”
USVISF President Yohannes Worede echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the power of regional unity: “This agreement goes beyond football—it’s a testament to the shared values and vision of our islands. Through this MoU, we are laying the foundation for a stronger, more connected football community across the Virgin Islands.
