Two Arrested After Knife Assault Reported in Anna’s Retreat

Two people were arrested Dec. 4 after police said a domestic dispute escalated into an assault involving a knife at an Anna’s Retreat residence on St. Thomas.

According to the Virgin Islands Police Department, officers responded at about 7:49 p.m. to a report of an assault with a knife.

Police said the investigation found that during a verbal dispute, Milord Medzar struck Junior Moricette with a bottle and later attacked him with a knife, causing injury. Officers reported that Moricette refused to allow them access to the residence to recover the weapon.

Medzar, 27, and Moricette, 33, were both arrested under domestic violence laws. They were treated for injuries at Roy Lester Schneider Hospital before being taken to the Richard Callwood Command to be booked and processed, according to the police report.

Medzar was charged with assault, third-degree DV, disturbance of the peace, DV, and possession of a deadly weapon in a crime of violence. Moricette was charged with simple assault, DV, and disturbance of the peace, DV. Police said no bail was set for either person under the domestic violence law, the police report stated.
