The Hebrew Congregation of St. Thomas hosts an evening of the music and poetry of Leonard Cohen, presented by Cantor Deborah Zecher. Leonard Cohen was a Canadian songwriter, singer, poet and novelist.
His work explores themes of faith, morality, isolation, redemption, love, desire and loss. He worked in several genres of music including folk, rock, pop and country. His song Hallelujah, among many, is well known. The program combines readings of his poetry related to his songs. Cantor Zecher joins the congregation for the High Holy Day Day Services, which begin Monday Sept. 22.
