Good Hope Country Day School proudly announces the appointment of Alea Bird, MSW, CSW, to the full-time position of school counselor. In this critical role, Bird will support the emotional, social, and mental well-being of students across all grade levels as part of GHCDS’s growing commitment to wrap-around student services.
Bird is a licensed Master of Social Work and Certified Social Worker, with deep experience supporting youth and families through trauma-informed care, counseling, and case management. She has previously served the GHCDS community in a part-time capacity, and her transition to a full-time role underscores the school’s strategic investment in holistic student support.
“Ms. Bird has already made a positive impact on our school community,” said Bill Sinfield, Head of School at GHCDS. “She brings compassion, professionalism, and expertise that align perfectly with our mission to support the whole child. Her full-time presence will elevate the well-being and success of every student she serves.”
As school counselor, Bird will collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and school leadership to provide individualized and group support, crisis intervention, and referrals to community services. She will also contribute to campus wellness initiatives and provide critical guidance to help students navigate personal and academic challenges.
