The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation (USVISF) proudly announces the commencement of its first-ever USVISF C License Coaching Course—marking a historic milestone in the development of coaching education and football standards across the territory.
The course officially kicked off on Friday, May 30 at the Bethlehem Soccer Complex in St. Croix, and begins today, June 6, on the University of the Virgin Islands campus in St. Thomas.
This landmark initiative was led by USVISF Head of Coach Education, Mr. Stephan De Four, with technical support from Concacaf, as part of a regional strategy to empower Member Associations to independently deliver high-quality coaching education.
“The launch of the C License course is a major step forward for football development in the Virgin Islands,” said USVISF President Yohannes Worede. “This achievement not only raises the bar for coaching standards locally, but also reflects our Federation’s growing capacity to lead its own development pathways. We extend our sincere gratitude to Concacaf for their continued partnership and technical guidance.”
Supporting the course implementation was USVISF Director of Football Mr. Vin Blaine, who worked alongside Mr. De Four throughout the preparation and delivery phases.
Special thanks are extended to the distinguished experts from Concacaf for their guidance:
Mr. Lenny Lake, Concacaf Consultant, former Technical Director of the St. Kitts and Nevis FA, and former FIFA Regional Technical Consultant
Mr. Andre Waugh, Senior Manager of Coach Education at Concacaf
This transition marks a shift in the region’s approach to coaching development, where instead of FIFA and Concacaf solely delivering courses, Member Associations are now being equipped to lead, manage, and implement their own licensing programs with guidance and oversight.
