Don’t Fall For Fake Motor Vehicles Message

Director Barbara Jackson-McIntosh would like to inform the motoring public that it has come to our attention that a scam involving phishing text messages is circulating with the subject line “Final Notice: Enforcement Penalties Beginning June 3.”

Please be advised of the following:

• Our official name is the BMV (Bureau of Motor Vehicles), not the DMV.

• This message is a scam and should not be opened or acted upon.

• The BMV does not send unsolicited messages with payment links.

• If you receive this or similar messages, do not click on any links or provide personal information.

If you have any concerns or questions about your account or any communication claiming to be from the BMV, please contact us directly through our official channels.

Director McIntosh apologizes for any inconvenience this fraudulent message may have caused.
