Bernard S. Benta Sr., a/k/a “Jumper” or “B,” of Christiansted, St. Croix, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025. He was 77 years old.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Gladys James; father; Edmiston Benta; grandparents, Otivia Pelle & Jacob Benta; daughter, Lorna Benta; son, Shamell Benta; sister, Rosemarie Williams; brother, Tyrone Benta and grandchildren, Litera Benjamin & Litesha Benjamin.
He is survived by his best friend, Charles Willocks; daughter, Abenie Benta & Rida Benta; sons, Taurin Benta & Bernard S. Benta, Jr. grandchildren, Anias Benta, Zyairhara Benta, Shamalia Benta, Micaela Benta, Shatique Benta, Taurin Benta, Tnique Benta, Dashia Benta, McKayla Benta, Petion Benta, Dominych Benta, Haile, Benta, Ahijah Benta, Nikkai Mitcham, Nikandra Matthew, Nikkori Matthew, Nikkuan Matthew Nikaira Baron, Anaisa Howe, Avante Howe, Jahceno Benjamin, Jakema Benjamin, Akeem Benjamin & Iesha Benjamin; sister, Violet Benta; brother, Dennis Benta & Nelson Benta; nieces and nephews, Abeni Mottley, Melane Mottley, Jacklin Mottley, Kenrick Mottley, Calvin Mottley, John Joseph & Fredrick Joseph; cousins and other relatives, The Benta and Pelle family of Antigua, W.I., & Landlord, Noel Howard.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, at Schuster’s Crematorium, LLC, located at 139 Castle Coakley, Christiansted, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
