U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Governor Albert Bryan Jr. has officially proclaimed Thursday, May 1, 2025, as the “National Day of Prayer” throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands, in alignment with the nationwide observance held across the United States.
This year’s National Day of Prayer is centered on the theme, “Pour Out to the God of Hope and Be Filled,” inspired by Romans 15:13: “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
By virtue of the authority vested in him by the Revised Organic Act of 1954, as amended, Governor Bryan issued the proclamation to invite and encourage all Virgin Islanders to come together in prayer for the Territory. The Governor calls on individuals of all faiths to set aside time to reflect, unite in spirit, and lift up their communities in hope and healing.
“In these challenging and changing times, it is vital that we look to our shared values and spiritual foundations,” said Governor Bryan. “I urge all residents to join in prayer on this day — for our families, our leaders, and our future — that we may be filled with joy, peace, and hope as one people living, serving, working, and learning together.”
The National Day of Prayer is an annual tradition observed across the United States on the first Thursday of May, uniting millions in prayer for the nation.
