Week to feature nearly 40 restaurants

Casual cafés, fine-dining establishments and food trucks will be among the nearly 40 food businesses from around Tortola featured during BVI Restaurant Week this year.

The event, which will be held from June 28 to July 5, is part of the yearlong BVI Food Fete culinary series organised by the BVI Tourist Board and Film Commission.

The week will feature dining, showcases and other festivities under the theme “Your Belly Knows Best: The Perfect Week for Perfect Dining.”

During a series of themed days, participating restaurants will offer prix-fixe menus at special prices, each featuring locally sourced ingredients and culinary innovation, according to the BVITBFC.

Entertainment

Restaurants are also encouraged to showcase more than just food, and many will offer cocktails and entertainment designed to appeal to residents and visitors alike.

Attendees will have a chance to win free meals and other perks by picking up a “Foodie Passport” and visiting five different restaurants during the week.

“BVI Restaurant Week is a true celebration of who we are as a people — warm, creative and proud of our heritage,” said Deputy Tourism Director Natasha Chalwell. “It’s also a wonderful opportunity to support our local chefs, mixologists and small businesses that bring so much flavour to the BVI.”

Food Fete began 11 years ago as a series of culinary events running throughout the month of November. But in 2024 it was reformatted to cover most of the year.

This year, it started in February with the Valentine’s Day Lime & Dine on Jost Van Dyke. For a month after that, a special night-time ferry was offered on weekends to accommodate Tortola residents wishing to eat dinner on the sister island and return the same night.

Taste of Virgin Gorda followed on March 22 at the Nail Bay Sugar Works.

And the series will close with the Anegada Lobster Festival from Nov. 28-30.
