UVI to Resume Normal Classes and Operations on Thursday After Weather-Related Closure

The University of the Virgin Islands has announced that all classes and hours of operation will return to their regular schedules on Thursday, September 25, following Wednesday’s precautionary suspension of activities due to inclement weather. Essential employees are expected to report at their normal times to ensure campus readiness.

University officials confirmed that all classes will resume at their regularly scheduled hours on Thursday. Students have been advised to exercise caution while traveling to campus and to remain alert for any additional weather-related advisories. For those residing on campus, Resident Assistants will continue to provide guidance and assistance as needed.

Faculty and staff are expected to return to work at their regularly scheduled times on Thursday. Essential personnel have been directed to report as usual to help prepare facilities and ensure that campuses are ready for the return to normal operations.

For any facility-related concerns, members of the university community may contact Physical Plant offices directly. On the Albert A. Sheen Campus in St. Croix, the number is (340) 692-4171. On the Orville E. Kean Campus in St. Thomas, the number is (340) 693-1500.

UVI stated that it will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates as needed to the university community. Students, faculty, and staff are urged to remain attentive to official announcements in case of any changes.
