ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department’s Economic Crimes Unit has arrested a 22-year-old man, Danley Nathaniel McIntosh, following an investigation into allegations of fraudulent use of a First Bank Visa Debit card belonging to another individual.

According to VIPD Director of Communications Glen Dratte, the investigation, which began on April 1, 2024, uncovered that McIntosh had found the debit card and used it without the owner’s authorization. According to police reports, McIntosh made multiple purchases at several establishments, including Gas for Less & Mini Mart, My Lord Variety Store, Super Dollar, Wendy’s, Pollo Tropical, Jordan Supermarket, Falcon Gas Station, and Den’s Jeweler’s and Repairs. These unauthorized transactions caused financial harm to the cardholder, according to the VIPD.
On Thursday at approximately 1:11 p.m., McIntosh voluntarily surrendered at the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Operating building. He was served with an arrest warrant and taken into custody without incident. McIntosh was subsequently booked and charged with obtaining money by false pretenses, grand larceny, and access to computer for fraudulent purposes.

Bail for McIntosh was set at $20,000. However, he was permitted to post ten percent of the bail amount and was released pending further legal proceedings. His Advice of Rights hearing is scheduled to take place at the V.I. Superior Court on Friday at 9:00 a.m.
