ST. CROIX — A dramatic fly-in by a U.S. Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter is expected to highlight an upcoming Coast Guard Day celebration scheduled for Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Leatherback Brewing Company in Roebuck Industrial Park on St. Croix.

The event is open to the public and promises a unique opportunity to witness the arrival of the life-saving Jayhawk helicopter, a key asset in the Coast Guard’s search and rescue operations. Organizers confirmed that the helo request has been approved, and the air crew is currently slated to arrive between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. However, they note that flight plans are always subject to change.
In addition to celebrating the dedication and hard work of Team Coast Guard, the gathering will serve as a Coast Guard Anniversary Party and Fundraiser. The full event is expected to last approximately 8 hours and 30 minutes, offering plenty of time for community members to engage with Coast Guard personnel and view the aircraft up close.
The celebration is being hosted by Leatherback Brewery Tasting Room St. Croix, Leatherback Brewing Company, and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Organizers are encouraging the public to come out and take part in this rare opportunity to connect with local Coast Guard members and see their mission-critical equipment in action.
