Five days after apparent gunshots damaged vehicles and an apartment building late in the evening of Jan. 8 in Hannahs Estate, police announced the incident to the public in a Monday press release.
“Upon receiving the report [of shots fired], officers immediately responded to the scene,” the release stated. “Several vehicles in the vicinity were found to have sustained damage from what appeared to be gunshots. Officers also observed damage to an apartment building in the area.”
Police did not explain why they did not report the incident to the public for five days, but they said a search of the scene and surrounding areas turned up no projectiles, spent shells or bullet fragments.
“Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident,” the press release added. “The residents of the affected apartment have been provided with the necessary support and assistance from the [police force].”
Police provided no further information, though they said investigations are ongoing and appealed to the public to provide information to assist.
