Woman Found Dead At Windward Passage Hotel; Police Say She Was An Employee
ST. THOMAS — A female employee of the Windward Passage Hotel was found dead in one of the hotel’s rooms on Sunday, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Karl Caesar announced via release late Monday. According to police, on Sunday at about 8:45 p.m., V.I.P.D. officers and Criminal Investigation Bureau (C.I.B.) investigators were called to the hotel in relation to an unresponsive female. Mr. Caesar said V.I.P.D. officers and emergency medical technicians traveled to the hotel. Upon arrival, the first responders and investigators observed an unresponsive female in one of the hotel’s rooms. V.I.P.D. Investigators gathered from a preliminary investigation that the guests occupying that room discovered the unresponsive female at approximately 8:00 p.m. EMTs on the scene confirmed that the female displayed no vital signs. The cause of death was unknown as if late Monday pending the results of an official autopsy, Mr. Caesar said. In addition, the identity of the female is being withheld until proper notification of next of kin is achieved. Mr. Caesar did not say whether there was any evidence on the victim’s person that would lead investigators to believe that a struggle might have occurred. Howver, he said the case remains under investigation by the V.I.P.D.’s Major Crime Unit. The V.I.P.D. is asking anyone with information about the incident to xall (340)774-2211 ext. 5617, or send an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers USVI here. The post Woman Found Dead At Windward Passage Hotel; Police Say She Was An Employee appeared first on .
